Day of the African Child, 16th June 2022

The Day of the African Child has been celebrated on June 16 every year since 1991, to raise awareness for the ongoing need to improve the education of children living across Africa. It is a symbol of protest and demand for adequate education for all African children and recognizes the courage thousands of students in Soweto – South Africa, who had to step up and take their rights themselves.

It’s a need that still very much exists today. It encourages people’s spirit of abundance to share something special with a child in Africa. As we celebrated this International Day of the African Child 2022, this year’s theme was “Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children,” we asked children at GGIS to use their creative talents to interpret which actions constitute harmful practices
